RedirectSentinel ("the app") is a Shopify app that detects broken URLs in your store and helps you redirect them. This policy explains what data the app processes, why, and your rights.

2. What data we process, and why
From your Shopify store (only when you install the app, and only with the permissions you approve: read products, read content, and manage navigation/URL redirects):
- Your store's domain and an access token, to connect to your store.
- Your catalogue's public structure: products, collections, pages, blog articles and menu items — their addresses (handles), titles and publication status. Used to detect URLs that stop working and to find the best page to redirect them to.
- Your store's URL redirects, to create the ones you approve and to check the health of existing ones.
- The app's own records: broken URLs detected, destinations proposed or chosen, and an activity log of what the app did.
- Your settings in the app, including your storefront password if you enter it (stored encrypted, used only so the app can check your store while it's password-protected).
- If Shopify includes them in the session, the name and email of the staff member who opened the app.
We do not access or store your customers' personal data (orders, customer accounts, payment details). The app's permissions don't allow it.
From Google Search Console (optional, only if you connect it): see section 4.
On this website: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking.
If you email us: your email address and message, to answer you.
To improve the service. We use the data above to improve RedirectSentinel — for example, to measure how well its proposed destinations work and refine how it chooses them. We may also use aggregated and anonymised statistics, which don't identify you or your store, to improve our other services. This never includes data received from Google (see section 4).
Legal basis: performing the service you install (Art. 6.1(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure, working and improving it (Art. 6.1(f)).
3. Where your data is stored, and who processes it
- OVHcloud (servers in Germany, EU): hosting of the app and its database, and our email.
- Shopify: your store's platform; the app reads from and writes to it through Shopify's API.
- Google (only if you connect Search Console): the source of your search data.
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.
4. Google Search Console data
If you connect Google Search Console, RedirectSentinel requests read-only access
(webmasters.readonly) to the search performance data of the property you choose: pages,
search queries, clicks, impressions and positions, and the indexing status of URLs.
We use it only to prioritise broken URLs by the traffic they had, to discover indexed URLs that no longer exist in your store, and to show you whether the redirects RedirectSentinel applied are keeping that traffic. We may use it to improve these same features of RedirectSentinel; we never use it for any other product or service. We never modify anything in your Google account. You can revoke access at any time from the app or from your Google account settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).
RedirectSentinel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular: we use this data only to provide the features described above; we don't transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide those features, comply with the law or as part of a merger or acquisition; we don't use it for advertising; and no person reads it unless you ask us to for support, it's needed for security or to comply with the law.
5. How long we keep it
While the app is installed. When you uninstall it, Shopify notifies us and we delete all your store's data within 48 hours of that notice. Our daily server backup keeps a single copy, which is replaced the following day. If you disconnect Google Search Console, we delete its data and access tokens.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, or object to its processing, by writing to support@redirectsentinel.com. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or your local authority.
7. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and notify you in the app if the change is significant.
